Simply Falling：Iyeoka的電子靈魂樂傑作
我想應該沒幾個人聽過Iyeoka Okoawo這號人物吧。坦白說，我也不太熟。會知道她，是因為無意間聽到她的一首電子靈魂樂風歌曲「Simply Falling」，令我十分著迷。
1975年出生的Iyeoka，是奈及利亞裔的美國詩人與音樂藝術家，擅長將自己的詩歌與靈魂樂融合在一起，然後再加入爵士樂、嘻哈、放克等音樂元素，創造出獨特的「電子靈魂樂」(Electronic Soul)曲風。
也許有人不清楚什麼是靈魂樂(Soul Music)，在此簡單介紹一下；這是一種結合了R&B與福音音樂的音樂流派，屬於藍調曲風的分支。近幾年靈魂樂最具代表性的歌手是愛黛兒(Adele)與艾美懷絲(Amy Winehouse)，中文歌曲則屬方大同和艾怡良。
而Iyeoka的Simply Falling是一首電子靈魂樂風的歌曲，收錄在2010年發行的個人第三張專輯「Say Yes」。Iyeoka的作品屬於非主流的獨立音樂，所以她的歌曲幾乎都未曾進入各大流行榜單；不過對喜愛靈魂樂或藍調曲風的人來說，感覺對了才重要。
幾年前第一次聽到Simply Falling這首歌時就讓我驚豔，不斷在YouTube上重複播放；而當時YouTube的點閱率甚至就已突破了1億次(寫這篇文章時將近1.4億次)，這證明了只要是好歌，即使非主流音樂也不會被埋沒。
